Clergywoman receives
1996 women's history grant

                 by United Methodist News Service

     The Rev. Rosetta E. Ross, assistant professor of ethics at
the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, has been
awarded the 1996 Women in United Methodist History Research Grant
of $1,000 by the denomination's Commission on Archives and
History.
     Ross will tape oral histories and gather information from
printed sources for her research involving United Methodist
clergywomen in the South Carolina Conference.
     A clergy member of the South Carolina Annual Conference, she
holds a Ph.D. in Christian social ethics from United Methodist-
related Emory University,
