CLARKSVILLE, Ark.--The University of the Ozarks has met a $1.6 million 
challenge issued by the Mabee Foundation of Tulsa, Okla. The challenge 
stated that the University would receive $1.6 million if it raised at least 
$10.1 million in pledges for capital before Sept. 28, 1995. The challenge 
was met in August and on Sept. 18, the university received the $1.6 million 
check. Funds from the Mabee Foundation will furnish the initial funding of 
five capital projects: renovation and expansion of Smith Science Center and 
Seay Student Center; construction of the new Robson Library and Boreham 
Business Building; and renovation of the Dobson Library into an 
adminstration center. 
 
CHARLOTTE, N.C.--The Coca-Cola Foundation (Atlanta) has committed $20,000 
to Queens College to fund the Coca-Cola Presidential Minority Scholarship 
Program, now one of three Coca-Cola- affiliated scholarships at the 
college. The grant will provide $10,000 each for one scholar in 1996-97 and 
1997-98, to be named at a later date.
