     The Rev. Paul Rutgers, executive presbyter of Chicago Presbytery, is 
in Northwestern Memorial Hospital near Chicago following a traffic accident 
Dec. 8 near Crown Point, Ind.  His wife, Susan, who was also involved, was 
not injured.  
      Rutgers suffered a neck injury, but his prognosis is good, according 
to presbytery officials.  He will be in traction for several days, but no 
surgery is contemplated at this time. 
     The accident occurred when the Rutgers pulled off a highway in a 
snowstorm and their car was struck by another car.
