LOUISVILLE, Ky.--Though much of its report to the upcoming General Assembly
in Albuquerque is prescriptive for ills it perceives in the structure and
operations of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), the Committee on Review
also included a lengthy list of "items of good news."

Stating, "The Review Committee rejoices in the work of the faithful

three new evangelism programs: "A.D. 2000 and Beyond,"
          "Commitment to Share
Good News" and the "Russia Initiative"
the commissioning last year of 464 new missionaries
43 new churches chartered in 1994 and 37 new church building
loans approved in 1995 completion of "A Year With Africa" and the
planning for "A Year With Latin Americans"
a "Ministry in the Cities" initiative funded at $280,000
