RICHMOND, Va.--The Rev. James W. Dale has been appointed as the new 
director of admissions at Union Theological Seminary in Virginia.  A Union 
graduate, Dale received the doctor of ministry degree there in 1980, 
received the master of sacred theology degree from Yale Divinity School and 
studied at the University of Paul Valery in Montpellier, France.  He has 
taught English and French at the Zaire Protestant Seminary in Kinshasa, 
Zaire. 
 
DUBUQUE, Iowa--During the first week of August, 19 members of the 
Presbyterian Mariners began a remodeling project on the campus of the 
University of Dubuque Theological Seminary -- a house at 1249 McCormick 
Street.  The Mariners have undertaken similar projects across the United 
States since the organization's founding in 1981. 
 
DECATUR, Ga.--An immersion week focusing on spirituality will be under way 
Feb. 11-16 on the campus of Columbia Theological Seminary as part of the 
seminary's new three-year program in spiritual formation.  Academic 
criteria for the spiritual formation certificate includes the immersion 
week, six elective courses, a practicum and a pilgrimage to Israel.  For

AUSTIN, Texas--"Theological Anthropology and The Psalter" was the 
convocation address delivered by Dr. Stephen Reid, associate professor of 
Old Testament, at the beginning of Austin Theological Seminary's academic 
year.  The incoming fall class has 55 new students. 
 
PITTSBURGH--Nancy W. Dickey, M.D., practicing internist and vice chair of 
the board of trustees of the American Medical Association, will lead a 
forum, "Delivering Health Care in the Brave New World," focusing on the 
delivery of health care, particularly to the indigent, on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 
at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
