LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Rev. Susan H. Craig, associate director of Women's
Ministries in the National Ministries Division (NMD) of the Presbyterian
Church (U.S.A.), has announced that she is leaving her position to accept a
call as pastor of United University Church of Los Angeles, Calif., on the
campus of the University of Southern California.

Craig will officially terminate her employment with the General
Assembly Council on March 29 and will be installed in her new position on
April 7, Easter Sunday.

After serving many years as a campus minister, Craig was called to her
current NMD leadership position here in December of 1993. She helped
oversee the transition of what formerly had been the Women's Ministry Unit
into the new NMD structure adopted by the 205th General Assembly in June of
1993 on recommendation of its Shape and Form Task Force.

During Craig's tenure, the Advocacy Committee on Women's Concerns was
organized and a pilot project to establish the National Network of
Presbyterian College Women became a regular NMD program.

The United University Church is related to both the Presbyterian
Church (U.S.A.) and the United Methodist Church. The congregation is rich
in its racial and cultural diversity, and is strongly committed to
inclusiveness. Additionally, there is a vibrant, creative music program
that utilizes many styles and traditions.

United University Church identifies itself as a peace church, a
sanctuary church, a More Light and Reconciling (United Methodist) church,
and extends its ministry not only to the university campus, but also to the
urban community in which the church and university are located.

The NMD is starting a search for Craig's replacement. In the interim,
Annie Wu King, who is the associate for coordination of staff in the
synods, has been named acting associate director.
