            MOTHER OF PC(USA) EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR DIES

     The 77-year-old mother of Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) executive 
director the Rev. James D.  Brown died last night in Perryton, Texas. 
 
      The cause of death was congestive heart failure. 
      
     Though arrangements are incomplete, a memorial service is being 
planned for Margaret Brown on Dec. 28 at the First Presbyterian Church in 
Canadian, Texas.  She will be buried next to her husband in upstate New 
York. 
 
     Brown was a resident of Canadian for several years before entering the 
Edward Abraham Memorial Home in Perryton, Texas.  She was born April 18, 
1918.  She was the mother of two sons: James D. Brown of Louisville, Ky.; 
Robert Brown of Canadian, Texas; and one daughter, Anne Reid of West Bend, 
Wis.   
 
     Arrangements are being handled by the Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in 
Perryton, Texas.
