95382      MCCORMICK SEMINARY OFFERS FOR-CREDIT COURSE  
           IN CONJUNCTION WITH TENTMAKERS CONFERENCE

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, in conjunction 
with the Association of Presbyterian Tentmakers (APT), is offering students 
interested in tentmaking ministries the opportunity to earn seminary 
credits by attending the APT annual conference, to be held Nov. 3-5. 
 
     The conference, "Strengthening the Tentmaking Stakes," will be held at 
the Center for Development in Ministry in Mundelein, Ill., near Chicago. 
Keynote speaker is the Rev. Jim Greene, a Baptist minister, health care 
consultant, entrpeneur, former campus minister, professor and missionary. 
He is the author of "Dual Career Ministers," a handbook for seminary 
students pursuing dual-career options. 
 
     Tentmakers are ordained pastors who earn their living by secular 
employment. 
 
     The for-credit program offered by McCormick will involve attendance at 
the APT conference, reading and research, and the completion of a written 
paper about some aspect or implication of tentmaking.  Faculty adviser for 
the program is the Rev. Kenneth E. Hindman, professor of ministry at the 
seminary.
