95417 Sessions Asked (Finally) to Share Joys and Concerns

                      by Jerry L. Van Marter

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--A letter has been sent to all sessions asking them to
share their joys and concerns about the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) with
the General Assembly Council.

The letter, from General Assembly moderator Marj Carpenter, was
addressed to each clerk of session.

The 207th General Assembly (1995) directed the moderator to send such
a letter to sessions. According to Office of Moderatorial Services staffer
Sue Whitford, the letter was finished and sent to a printer in early
October. Lost -- by an employee who was later fired -- the letter is
arriving much later than was originally planned, an apologetic Whitford
told the Presbyterian News Service.

Carpenter asked sessions to respond as soon as possible.
