     John Mulder, retired attorney, church leader and father of Louisville 
Presbyterian Theological Seminary president the Rev. John M. Mulder, died 
in Holland, Mich., March 26. 
     Mulder, who practiced law in Chicago for more than 50 years, was an 
elder and Sunday school teacher at Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago 
for more than a quarter century.  He was a long-term member of the board of 
trustees of McCormick Theological Seminary and served on numerous General 
Assembly boards, commissions and councils. 
     Survivors include seven children and 20 grandchildren.  Services were 
held March 29 at Hope Church in Holland and March 30 at Fourth Church in 
Chicago.

     Arthur S. Link, emeritus professor of American history at Princeton 
University and director and editor of "The Papers of Woodrow Wilson," has 
been named Writer of the Year by the Presbyterian Writers' Guild.  The 
award will be made at the annual luncheon of the guild, July 17, during the 
General Assembly in Cincinnati. 
     Link recently completed his lifelong project editing 69 volumes of the 
papers of Woodrow Wilson.  A graduate of the University of North Carolina, 
he joined the Princeton faculty in 1960. 
     An elder in the Presbyterian Church, Link will also be honored at the 
Assembly by the Presbyterian Outlook Foundation, which will give him its 
E.T. Thompson Award for distinguished service to the church as a scholar.

challenged people of faith to be responsible consumers, is seeking a
