PORTLAND, Ore.--The Mary Stuart Rogers Foundation has established a 
scholarship program at Lewis & Clark College that includes the first major 
scholarships for education students in the Graduate School of Professional 
Services. The Foundation contributed $50,000 to begin the program in 
1995-96.  
 
SHERMAN, Texas--The Rev. Robert W. Bohl, moderator of the 206th General 
Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), received an honorary 
doctorate of philosophy during commencement services at Austin College on 
May 21. Bohl, who also delivered the college's baccalaureate sermon on May 
20, is senior pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth. 
 
WASHINGTON, D.C.--Peter H. Armacost, president of Eckerd College in St. 
Petersburg, Fla., has been named to the board of directors of the National 
Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU). He assumed 
his new responsibilities Feb. 3 at the association's 19th annual meeting in 
Washington, D.C.  
 
STORM LAKE, Iowa--Frederick Moore, J.D., vice president and general counsel 
at North Carolina Wesleyan College of Rocky Mount, N.C., has been named the 
17th president of Buena Vista University, according to Warren Mack, chair 
of Buena Vista's board of trustees. Moore will assume the presidency on 
July 1, 1995.   
 
TULSA, Okla.--The University of Tulsa board of trustees has announced TU 
will proceed immediately with a series of projects totaling more than $100 
million that have received significant donor support through TU's New 
Century Campaign, the most significant capital funds campaign in the 
institution's 100-year history. According to Charles E. Norman, chair of 
TU's board of trustees, these projects include plans for better defining 
both the perimeter and interior of the campus; expanding on-campus student 
recreation facilities; expanding and improving the range of on-campus 
student housing; and constructing both a law library addition and a student 
life and convocation center.
