Anglican Youth Meeting Planned

(Anglican Communion News Service) The Steering Committee of the
International Anglican Youth Network (IAYN) met in New York City,
USA, from 28-31 August. A meeting of the full network, consisting
of one member from each province of the Communion, is scheduled for
23-28 April, 1996 in Cornwall, Connecticut, USA.

The New York meeting made plans for the promotion of Anglican
Youth Sunday, on 25 November 1995; for the proposed conference for
Anglican youth from across the Communion in 1997; and the youth
participation in the 1998 Lambeth Conference.

The Steering Committee meeting in New York was a partial response to
Resolution 40 of the Joint Meeting of the Primates and the Anglican
Consultative Council in Cape Town in 1993 which called for the
revitalisation of IAYN. The last meeting of the full network was
held in London in February 1994.

Members of the Steering Committee of the IAYN include: Rachel Beleo
(Episcopal Church in the Philippines), the Revd Douglas Fenton
(Anglican Church in Canada), the Revd Stephen Hale (Anglican Church
of Australia), the Revd Dr Sheryl Kujawa (Episcopal Church USA),
Deirdre Martin (Anglican Consultative Council) and Ongkopotse Tabane
(Church of the Province of Southern Africa). Also present at the
New York meeting was Thomas K Chu (Episcopal Church USA).
