TO PREACH SUNDAY, MAY 19, NATIONAL CITY CHRISTIAN
CHURCH, WASHINGTON, D.C.

The Rev. Dr. Joan Brown Campbell, General Secretary
of the National Council of Churches, will preach at
the 11 a.m. service Sunday, May 19, at National City
Christian Church, 5 Thomas Circle N.W., Washington,
D.C.  Title: "This is the Way: Walk in It."  Media
are welcome, and also may talk with her immediately
following the service.

Dr. Campbell heads the nation's largest ecumenical
organization, with headquarters in New York.  The
NCC's 33 Protestant and Orthodox member
denominations have a combined constituency of 52
million members.  Current major projects include a
major effort to investigate and stop the firebombing
of Black churches.  Dr. Campbell also is articulate
on issues of religion and politics from a mainline
churches perspective.
