College administrator receives
1996-97 graduate scholarship

     NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UMNS) -- Bette Jeanne Olson, an
administrator at Nebraska Wesleyan University, is the 1996-97
recipient of the Esther E. Edwards Graduate Scholarship.
     The $5,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a female
administrator or faculty member pursuing an advanced degree that
will provide the basis for a leadership role at a United
Methodist-related college or university.
     Olson is director of career development at Nebraska Wesleyan.
She is completing a doctoral degree in higher education
administration at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
     She has served as an administrator at Nebraska Wesleyan since
1973 and is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Lincoln.
She and her husband Kim have two children.
     Olson will receive the scholarship during the annual
Institute of Higher Education sponsored by the General Board of
Higher Education and Ministry's Division of Higher Education, June
26-28, in Nashville.
