DECATUR, Ill.--Millikin University is one of 22 institutions awarded a 
$30,000 grant from the Consortium for the Advancement of Private Higher 
Education to help fund faculty excellence programs.  Millikin will use its 
grant to develop activities that merge diverse faculty roles, study 
alternative models for the evaluation of teaching and content in 
nontraditional courses and establish flexible individual plans for 
professional growth of faculty. 
 
DANVILLE, Ky.--Centre College has received a $25,000 grant from the James 
Graham Brown Foundation of Louisville, Ky., to establish a leadership 
training program for a select group of students on the campus. When fully 
implemented, the Brown Scholars Leadership Program will provide 
opportunities for Centre students to meet national leaders in Washington, 
D.C., and state leaders in Frankfort, Ky. Participants will also complete a 
"shadow day" each year, accompanying for a day someone who has been 
identified as a Kentucky leader in business, education or civic affairs. 
 
CLARINVILLE, Ill.--Blackburn College has received proceeds valued at 
$300,000 gift from a charitable lead trust from the estate of Myrtle Dell 
of Northbrook, Ill., for unrestricted use.
