96214 Deadline Extended for Writers Guild "Old Editors Award"
by Jerry L. Van Marter
LOUISVILLE, Ky.--As befits those for whom the honor is named, confusion
over the calendar has led the Presbyterian Writers Guild to extend the
deadline for its "Old Editors Award." Entries will now be received until
June 15.
The award is given each year to the person who submits the best
"one-liner" -- a statement of not more than 15 words. Entries will be
judged on the basis of being "clever, thoughtful, funny, poignant or any
combination of the above characteristics.
The contest is open to all members of the Guild. The winner will be
announced at the annual Presbyterian Writers Guild luncheon at General
Assembly, July 1 in Albuquerque.
Valid entries may be sent to Ann Weems, Guild president, at 6900
Kingsbury Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63130.
