Blackstock named associate director
for Presbyterian curriculum publishing
ALBUQUERQUE--Pending General Assembly authorization, Donna Blackstock will
become the associate director of the new curriculum publishing program
area, which was approved by the General Assembly Council here June 28.
Blackstock has served as the coordinator of resource development in
the Christian education program area of the Congregational Ministries
Division. As well as supervising the editorial staff and overseeing the
development of "Celebrate" materials, Blackstock has been supervising
editor for "Bible Discovery" adult (English, Korean and Spanish versions)
and youth/older youth curriculum.
She served in a similar capacity in the Education and Congregational
Nurture Unit, giving her eight years' experience as supervisor of editorial
work. Blackstock has been chairperson of the curriculum management team and
is a member of the "Bible Discovery" steering committee and the
Presbyterian reformed education ministry cabinet. Her experience includes
12 years as an editor of church school materials for the Presbyterian
Church.
Previously, Blackstock was director of a learning center for children
with learning disabilities. She also taught in public schools in California
and New Mexico as well as teaching in New Mexico for the Board of National
Missions of the United Presbyterian Church, U.S.A.
Blackstock has a B.A. in education from Los Angeles State College, an
M.A. in education administration from New Mexico State University, and a
Master of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary in New York.
