General Assembly pauses to remember former moderator Harvard Anderson

ALBUQUERQUE--The 208th General Assembly paused early in its deliberations
June 29 to remember the Rev. Harvard A. Anderson, moderator of the 1977
General Assembly of the former Presbyterian Church in the United States.
Anderson died June 21 in Winter Park, Fla.

A native of Madisonville, Texas, Anderson was a tireless advocate of
Presbyterian reunion and put in place during his moderatorial year some of
the processes that eventually produced reunion in 1983. He is survived by
his wife, Evelyn, and son, Charles T. Anderson, both of Winter Park.
