     On July 10, Andrew Michael Kosinski joined the Presbyterian and human 
family.  The son of the Rev. Lori Zang Kosinski, former chair of the 
General Assembly Council, and Michael Kosinski, Andrew weighed in at seven 
pounds, 15 ounces, and measured out at 20 inches.  Mother, father, newborn 
and brother, John Paul, are all reported doing well.

     The Rev. James M. MacKellar, longtime stated clerk of the Synod of the 
Northeast, retired June 29.  MacKellar and his wife, Genie, are currently 
studying Chinese in preparation for a lengthy trip to China in the fall.

     The Presbyterian Publishing Corporation (PPC) has announced the 
appointment of the Rev.  LindaJo McKim as editor for Geneva Press and 
congregational resources. McKim, who has been Geneva Press editor, will now 
assume editorial responsibility for the educational resources PPC will 
offer in the future.  Presbyterian curriculum has been moved to the 
Congregational Ministries Division of the General Assembly Council. 
     According to PPC officials, McKim will continue as Geneva Press editor 
but will scale back her work for Westminster/John Knox Press.  Geneva Press 
is a division of PPC devoted to works in the Reformed tradition dealing 
with the history, theology and polity of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

     The Board of Metropolitan Dade County Commissioners proclaimed Feb. 
16, 1996, as "Rev. Dr.  Carlos Santin Day."  Santin, the denomination's 
associate for Hispanic Congregational Enhancement, was recognized for his 
work both as a Presbyterian minister and as an administrator.

     Dr. George W. Beran of Ames, Iowa, a former Presbyterian mission 
worker in the Philippines in the 1960s, was honored by the International 
Veterinary Congress in Louisville last week for his contributions to 
"international understanding of veterinary medicine."  Beran received a 
Tiffany crystal sculpture and $500. 
      While in the Philippines, Beran worked in diagnosis and control of 
rabies.  His wife, Jan, who served as a mission worker in the Philippines 
as well, is currently vice moderator for the Synod of Lakes and Praries.
