                     Curriculum transfer recommended

The committee on Christian Education and Theological Institutions is
recommending that the Assembly transfer the entire curriculum enterprise
from the Presbyterian Publishing Corporation to the Congregational
Ministries Division of the General Assembly Council.

The committee is also recommending the Assembly approve a covenant with
Auburn Theological Seminary. Auburn is an independent theological
institution which operates in partnership with Union Theological Seminary
in New York. It was founded by the Synod of Geneva in 1818.

The committee currently is wrestling with issues related to campus
ministry. These include an overture from the Presbytery of Shenandoah to
adopt a vision statement for campus ministry, and an overture from the
Presbytery of Detroit asking that the Assembly provide "adequate budget and
staff support" for campus ministry.
