GA96128     Bicentennial Fund Accountability Addressed 
 
ALBUQUERQUE--Approving a recommendation of its committee on Mission 
Priorities and Budgets, the 208th General Assembly asked for encouragement 
of the church at large to continue to fulfill its obligations to the 
Bicentennial Fund by sharing a summary of the programmatic successes funded 
to date by the campaign; by encouraging all governing bodies to submit 
Bicentennial Fund receipts and reports in a timely manner; and by strongly 
encouraging presbyteries to refrain from using Bicentennial Funds for other 
purposes.   
 
     The Assembly also approved a comment from the Assembly committee on 
Mission Priorities and Budgets requesting that the Bicentennial Fund 
accountability committee determine which churches and presbyteries are 
using funds in ways unrelated to the purposes of the Bicentennial Fund, the 
amount of funds so involved, and report this to the 209th General Assembly 
(l997).
