The Congregational Ministries Division in Louisville has announced the
appointment of Gina Yeager as associate for youth ministry in the Christian
Education Program Area. She begins her new work Sept. 1.
Yeager, a graduate of the Presbyterian School of Christian Education
and a certified Christian educator of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), is
currently director of Christian education for Faith Presbyterian Church in
Huntsville, Ala.
In her new position, she will be responsible for assisting
congregations and middle governing bodies to implement the new
"Presbyterian Youth Connection" program.

The National Ministries Division in Louisville has announced the
appointment of the Rev. Carl Lee ("Trey") Hammond III as coordinator for
urban ministries, effective Sept. 23. He succeeds the Rev. Phil Tom, who
resigned earlier this summer to return to pastoral ministry in
Indianapolis.
Hammond is currently pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Dallas.
He has spent his entire church career in urban ministry.

Parthenios III, Greek Orthodox patriarch of Alexandria (Egypt) and all
Africa, died of a heart attack July 23 during a visit to Greece.
Parthenios, 76, had served since 1987 as the 113th patriarch of Alexandria.
He was elected to the World Council of Churches Central Committee in
1968 and became a WCC president in 1991.
Funeral services were held July 30 in the cathedral church of St.
Nicholas in Cairo.
