Rural fellowship to collect
choir robes for pastors in Zaire

     Used choir robes are being sought for pastors in Zaire by the
United Methodist Rural Fellowship (UMRF).
     The robes should be clean and in good condition, according to
Mel West, UMRF field representative. He explained the rapidly
growing church in Zaire has been giving robes to newly trained
pastors when they graduate, but the supply is exhausted. More
robes will be needed for the graduates in June 1997.
     West explained that the robes, which then serve as the
clergy's pastoral robes, should be cleaned recently and placed in
plastic bags, then packed in a sturdy box or a 31-gallon plastic
trunk, which makes an excellent storage unit for a pastor in the
African country.
     The contributing church is asked to include a check for $9 
per cubic foot to cover shipping to Zaire.  With the check the
church needs to provide a customs list on church letterhead
specifying that the contents are a gift from that church, listing
the items included and assigning a value to each.
     Checks should be made to International Supply Co. and cartons
should be marked to indicate they are for Likasi School of
Theology, c/o Fred Price, Lubumbashi.
     Fred and Lanie Price are helping to train pastors in Zaire,
West said.
