World peace, order to be topic
of annual Washington conference

     WASHINGTON (UMNS) -- The fifth annual Christian Men's World
Peace and World Order Congressional Conference will be held here
Sept. 25 with presentations by administration and congressional
representatives on the topic "Let's get world peace and world
order in the 21st century."
     The conference, which originated as a United Methodist Men's
event, also will have the support of the men's organizations in
the Presbyterian (U.S.A.), Evangelical Lutheran, Disciples of
Christ and American Baptist (USA) churches.
     Speakers have 20 minutes each to address the issue and answer
questions.
     Among people invited to speak to this conference in addition
to senators and representatives were President Bill Clinton,
presidential candidate Bob Dole, Secretary of State Warren
Christopher and Attorney General Janet Reno.
     Confirmations have been received from Sen. Richard Lugar, a
United Methodist, and Reps. Floyd Flake, John Myers and Sue
Myrick.
     Advance registration is required for the one-day event on
Capitol Hill, and United Methodist Men are being encouraged to
