     An item in the Notes about People section (#96373) of the Oct. 4 
edition of "NEWS BRIEFS" about the appointment of the Rev. Mary 
Newbern-Williams as associate for racial-ethnic schools and colleges 
incorrectly reported her most recent employment.    Newbern-Williams was 
most recently pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles and a 
social service worker with the Urban League in Pasadena, Calif.
