96383           Two New Applicants Will Bring WCC  
                    Church Membership to 332

GENEVA--The central committee of the World Council of Churches agreed Sept. 
19 to receive two churches into full membership of the WCC, providing no 
objection is registered within six months by existing member churches. 
 
     The two churches are the Methodist Church in Togo and the Presbyterian 
Community of Kinshasa (Zaire). Their membership will raise the total number 
of WCC member churches to 332. 
 
     The Methodist Church in Togo has a membership of 45 600 baptized and 
communicant members. It is a member of the All Africa Conference of 
Churches and of the World Methodist Council. 
 
     The Presbyterian Community of Kinshasa has 30 000 communicant members. 
It is a member of the Church of Christ in Zaire, the All Africa Conference 
of Churches and the World Alliance of Reformed Churches.
