96482 Mission Service Workers Sought

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Worldwide Ministries Division of the Presbyterian
Church (U.S.A.) is seeking qualified persons to fill 17 Mission Service
Worker positions in countries all around the world.
According to Susan Rhema, coordinator for promotion, recruitment and
training in the division's People in Mutual Mission Program Area, the
salaried positions are three year appointments.
Deadline for applications is Feb. 1. Persons selected for service
will undergo orientation in June 1997, with deployment to their positions
later in the summer. Persons interested in any of the positions may call
the Mission Service Recruitment Office in Louisville at 1-800-779-6779 for
more information and application forms.
Positions to be filled are:
Assistant to the executive secretary and coordinator of U.S. work
groups, Dominican Republic: to work with the Dominican Evangelical Church
to facilitate U.S. work groups to the country under the church's auspices
Volunteer and work group coordinator, Guatemala: to work with the
Presbyterian Church of Guatemala to facilitate work groups and volunteer
groups to the country
Co-director of the Frontera de Cristo border project, Mexico: in
cooperation with the National Presbyterian Church of Mexico
Professor of Theology, Philippines: at Silliman University
Evangelism facilitator, Ethiopia: to work with the Illubabour Bethel
Synod in the training of evangelists and Christian educators (must be an
ordained PCUSA minister)
Women's ministries advisor, Zaire: to assist the coordinator of the
women's department of the Presbyterian Community of Zaire (must be an
ordained PCUSA minister)
Financial representative, Zaire: to oversee the Presbyterian
Community of Zaire's financial office and develop skills of Zairian staff
Professor of theology, Croatia: at Evangelical Theological Seminary
Assistant director/instructor, Kazakhstan: at Great Commission
Learning Center of the Revival Mission Society
Administrator, Kyrgyzstan: to work with Scientific Technology &
Language Institute to enable the transfer of technology by facilitating the
placement of volunteers from developed countries
Mission facilitator, Russia: to work with the Russian Federation of
Evangelists to coordinate sister church relationships and provide
logistical and teaching support
Coordinator for interpretation and international linkage, Middle
East: to work with the Middle East Council of Churches to develop its
program through interpretation, fund raising and international
relationships
Partnership consultant, Southeast Asia: work with partner church
agencies in Indonesia and Thailand to enhance relationship and
communication with the PCUSA
Instructor in theology and evangelism, Thailand: at Bangkok
Institute of Theology
Financial projects manager, Cameroun: to work with Eglise Presbyter
Camerounaise to organize and manage accounting and funds distribution
system for the denomination
General surgeon, Mozambique: at the Presbyterian Church of
Mozambique's Chicumbane Hospital as general practitioner and clinical
supervisor
Development coordinator, Mozambique: to work with the Presbyterian
Church of Mozambique to establish development program and support projects
of several local communities
