‘Tapestry of God’s Handiwork’
theme of August event on family

	Family ’98, the first-ever large national family event sponsored by the
United Methodist Church will take place, Aug. 5-8, 1998, at the Sheraton Music
City Hotel in Nashville, Tenn.
	The conference, sponsored by the United Methodist Board of Discipleship, will
address current family issues and help participants become familiar with
concerns predicted to emerge in the next century. More than 400 people are
expected to attend. divorce, marriage and faith.
Under the theme, "A Tapestry of God’s Handiwork," family ministry leaders,
coordinators of family ministries, Christian educators and pastors will offer
strategies to help families become centers of faith formation.
	Workshops in the English, Korean and Spanish languages will focus on ministry
with various types of families and deal with parenting and grandparenting,
blended families, 
	Family ’98 also will include speakers, Bible study and concerts.
