GENEVA, 30 April 1998 (lwi) - "Justification - Church - Ministry.
Requirements for Church Unity" is the theme of a theological meeting which
will take place in Helsinki, Finland, May 15-18. Bishops from Denmark,
Finland, Norway, Sweden and the member churches of the United Evangelical
Lutheran Church of Germany (VELKD) will participate.

"Requirements for ecumenical unity are jointly examined on the basis of
common theological heritage", an April 28 press release states. The topics
under discussion will include, among others, the agreements of Meissen and
Porvoo between Lutherans and Anglicans.
