    More Notables Added to Peacemaking Conference Lineup

LOUISVILLE, Ky.-Actor and activist Ed Asner and Father Elias Chacour, a 
Melkite priest in Israel and renowned Middle East peace advocate, have been 
added as special guests at the 1998 Presbyterian Peacemaking Conference, 
July 15-19, on the campus of the University of California at Los Angeles. 
 
    They join the previously announced Mike Farrell - best recognized for 
his portrayal of B.J. Honeycutt on the TV show "M*A*S*H" - and Jennifer 
Delora, star of stage, screen and television, as featured guests at the 
event. 
 
    Asner, winner of seven Emmys and five Golden Globes, is perhaps best 
known as "Lou Grant" on the "Mary Tyler Moore" show and then the "Lou 
Grant" series.  A past president of the Screen Actors Guild, Asner has long 
been known for his many humanitarian activities.  He will speak July 17. 
 
    Chacour will speak July 15 and 16 on "Peace and Human Rights in 
Israel/Palestine: A Christian Agenda."  Chacour is a world-renowned peace 
activist and author of "Blood Brothers" and "We Belong to the Land," in 
which he describes the plight of Palestinians since 1948 in the context of 
his personal story. 
 
    In addition, "Tonight Only," an entertainment company that has 
performed at the United Nations in New York and at the U.N.'s World Summit 
in Istanbul, Turkey, will perform July 16 at a human rights benefit called 
"Hollywood Entertains for Human Rights." 
 
    The theme of the 1998 Peacemaking Conference is "Life in All Its 
Fullness: A Human Rights Mandate."
