The Aug. 7-8 meeting of the United Methodist Judicial Council will be
held at the Harvey Hotel DFW Airport in Irving, Texas, a suburb of
Dallas.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, with an oral
presentation by the South Central Jurisdiction College of Bishops. That
presentation will be open to the public.

However, deliberations of the Judicial Council will be closed, as
always. As is their practice, the court justices will not be available
for interviews before, during or after the meeting.

The special session is expected to end at about noon Saturday, Aug. 8.
No decision will be announced immediately after the session, Council
President Tom Matheny has said.

United Methodist News Service will have a story during the days
following the meeting. A full text of the decision will be provided
online as soon as possible. However, we don't know when the Judicial
Council's decision will be released.
