Anglican Bishops' Spouses' focus on global impact of AIDS

Bishops' Spouses' presentation focuses on global impact of AIDS

This and other key health issues will be addressed by expert
speakers including United Kingdom Minister for Health Tessa
Jowell in a presentation entitled 'A Healthy World? Strategies
for Hope' at the Lambeth Conference on Thursday 23rd July, 2.45 -
5.15 pm, in the small sports hall.

A major part of the Bishops' Spouses programme at the Conference,
the session will include presentations on: 

*  the world-wide impact of HIV/AIDS by Dr Ian Campbell,
International Health Programme Consultant for the Salvation Army

*  the global dimension of health issues by Dr Yugi Kawaguchi,
Director Inter-Agency Affairs World Health Organisation

* 'The Christian Challenge Towards a Healthy Future' by
Archbishop David Gitari, with reference to his work in Kenya

Other speakers will include Mrs Juliana Okine, Ghana; Mrs Sheila
Rumalshah, Pakistan; Mrs Elena Apelea, Chile; and the Rt Revd
Geralyn Wolf, Bishop of Rhode Island, USA. There will also be
drama presentation by Big Fish - a group of actors that produces
short plays on issues such as HIV/AIDS, drugs etc. Finally Tessa
Jowell will provide a summing up and response.
