    Corrections 
 
    A story in the July 17 issue of "NEWS BRIEFS" about the Church Growth 
Strategy Team (#98217, p. 5) contained a misspelled name.  The associate 
pastor of Canoga Park Presbyterian Church in San Fernando Presbytery is the 
Rev. Daniel Beteta, not Beleta.

    A story in the July 3 issue of "NEWS BRIEFS" about the 1998 Walton 
Award winners (#GA98004, p. 16), reported an incorrect name for one of the 
recipients.  The Island Presbyterian Church in Corpus Christi, Texas, was 
wrongly listed as the Island Memorial Presbyterian Church.

    A story in the July 3 issue of "NEWS BRIEFS" about the 1998 General 
Assembly's actions  on abortion (#GA98129, p. 15) incorrectly reported that 
a special committee was authorized to review and implement the Assembly's 
current policy on abortion.  That review was assigned to the Advisory 
Committee on Social Witness Policy, not to any special committee of the 
General Assembly.

            A correction in the July 24 issue of "NEWS BRIEFS" was 
incorrect (How's that for adding insult to injury?).  The 210th General 
Assembly did not change Hiroshima Day (Aug. 6, 2000) to "Day of 
Remembrance" in the Presbyterian Planning Calendar.  That change was 
proposed to the Assembly, but was rejected and the day was eliminated from 
the calendar altogether.
