                Corrections and Clarifications 
 
    A story in the Aug. 7 issue of "NEWS BRIEFS" about the Advisory 
Committee on Social Witness Policy's review of the Presbyterian Church's 
abortion policy (#98251, p. 16) incorrectly reported that the advisory 
committee was charged to implement the church's current policy.  The charge 
to the advisory committee is "to assess the current implementation of the 
General Assembly's policy on abortion and report its findings to the 212th 
General Assembly (2000)."

    A story in the Aug. 7 issue of "NEWS BRIEFS" about the Presbyterian 
Youth Triennium (#98254, p. 5) included a quote from an Indonesian 
Christian that is obviously incorrect.  Because there are approximately 20 
million Christians in Indonesia, there are certainly more than 300 
Christian congregations in the country.

    Eva Stimson, editor of "Presbyterians Today," contributed to a story in 
the Aug. 28 issue of "NEWS BRIEFS" about the National Network of 
Presbyterian College Women (#98268, p. 7).
