This statement is issued following the story "Lobbyists
get a pass to the heart of power" in today's Sunday
Telegraph.

Whitefield Associates is a limited company wholly owned
by the Evangelical Alliance UK, the umbrella group
representing over one million Christians in 30
denominations.

Whitefield Associates is an agency which provides
Christian organisations and individuals with a public
affairs service within a post-Nolan ethical framework
on a not for profit basis.

It enters into contracts to supply a service and advice
through consultants who work within the terms of agreed
contracts.

The consultants operate within a code of practice that
requires them to maintain the highest personal
standards of honesty and integrity in dealing with the
client and act in accordance with the standards set by
the Parliamentary Commissioner.

Whitefield Associates is headed by Mr Martyn Eden,
public affairs director of the Evangelical Alliance. 
Mr Eden is currently on holiday abroad.

In his absence a spokesman for the Evangelical Alliance
said: "Graham Dale is employed by Whitefield Associates
as a parliamentary Consultant.

"We have no reason to believe that Mr Dale has acted
improperly or in any way contrary to the Whitefield
Associates code of practice or the standards set by the
Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards."
