Evangelical leader in Northern Ireland visit

One of the United Kingdom's most senior Church leaders is in
Northern Ireland this week on the first anniversary of his
commissioning as general director of the Evangelical Alliance UK
Rev Joel Edwards will meet with the Northern Ireland Evangelical
Alliance council as well as EA members, supporters and local
church leaders during his three day visit which begins on Monday.
The highlight of the visit will be on Tuesday evening when Joel
Edwards will meet with EA members from across the province for
the first time since his commissioning on October 17th last year.
During his visit he will have meetings in Castlewellan, Co Down;
Coleraine, Co Londonderry; and Belfast. On Tuesday he will record
a programme for the ITV Witness series, which will be broadcast
in late November.
Joel Edwards will deliver a key-note speach to members and
supporters during an evening of reflection, meditation and prayer
at the Great Victoria Street Baptist Church, Belfast, on Tuesday
evening. During the meeting, Rev David McCarthy and Heather
Boland, general secretary and Council chair of the Northern
Ireland Evangelical Alliance, will outline the work being done by
EA in the province.
The Evangelical Alliance was formed in 1846 and today represents
the collective voice of more than one million evangelical
Christians in 30 denominations. The Northern Ireland Evangelical
Alliance was formed in 1987.
