    Higher Education Award Nominees Sought

LOUISVILLE, Ky.-The Higher Education Program Area of the National 
Ministries Division here is seeking nominees for the General Assembly's 
annual Higher Education Award. 
 
    The award is given each year to honor a Presbyterian for his or her 
contribution to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)'s mission in higher 
education.  The award is presented during the General Assembly. 
 
    To be eligible a person must be a living Presbyterian or someone who 
has worked on behalf of the PC(USA) and is involved in the life of the 
PC(USA).  The person's service must be distinguished, extensive, long-term 
and of national and/or international significance. 
 
    Letters of nomination should respond to these criteria and be 
accompanied by two additional letters of support for the candidate. 
Nominations will remain in an active file for three years. 
 
    As many as four persons not selected for the award will be placed on an 
honor roll of outstanding candidates who have not been chosen to receive 
the award. 
 
    Deadline for nominations is Jan. 18, 1999.  They should be sent to the 
Rev. Duncan S. Ferguson, 100 Witherspoon St., Room M040, Louisville, KY 
40202-1396.
