Domestic Violence Prevention Center Seeks New Director

    by Jerry L. Van Marter

SEATTLE-The Center for the Prevention of Sexual and Domestic Violence, an
interreligious agency in Seattle that has worked closely with the
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), is seeking a new executive director.

The vacancy was created as part of a restructuring of the 21-year-old
center, which resulted in the establishment of a new position - founder and
senior analyst - for the Rev. Marie M. Fortune.

Deadline for applications for executive director is Jan. 31, with a
starting date for the new executive director of July 1, 1999. More
information is available by writing to Search Committee, Center for
Prevention of Sexual and Domestic Violence, 936 North 34th Street, Suite
200, Seattle, WA 98103, by calling (206) 634-1903, or by e-mail at
cpsdv@cpsdv.org

Most recently, the Center has worked with the PC(USA)'s Societal
Violence Initiative Team in providing domestic violence prevention training
for more than 100 Presbyterians.
