Black Christian Civic Forum to be launched

This press release is being distributed by the Evangelical 
Alliance UK in support of the Black Christian Civic Forum.

CALLING NOTICE	

A new national group, which aims to increase the number of 
Black Christians involved in politics and social action, is to be 
launched on Saturday 23rd January in east London.  A 
number of leading Black Christians will attend a press 
conference to launch the Black Christian Civic Forum at the 
House of Commons on Monday 18th January.  The press 
conference coincides with Martin Luther King Day, which 
celebrates the 70th anniversary, on January 15th, of Martin 
Luther King’s birth.

The BCCF has the backing of leaders from Black Majority 
churches and senior Black figures from established 
denominations and church groups such as the Church of 
England, the Evangelical Alliance and the Council of Churches 
for Britain and Ireland.

R David Muir, the founding director of the BCCF, will chair the 
press conference,  which will be held in Committee Room 13, 
House of Commons, Westminster, at 11:30am on Monday 
18th January 1999.

press conference are:

Lawrence

Rev Joel Edwards, general director of the Evangelical Alliance
