Presbyterian Men's Group Offers Affiliate Memberships

    by Jerry L. Van Marter

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The National Council of Presbyterian Men is offering all
men's fellowship groups in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) free two-year
"affiliate memberships."

The free memberships are good from Jan. 1, 1999 through Dec. 31, 2000.

"While men's fellowships have increased by great numbers throughout the
denomination, the National Council of Presbyterian Men has not realized the
same rate of growth," said the Rev. Curtis A. Miller, the Congregational
Ministries Division's associate for men's ministries. "The purpose of
offering the affiliate membership to congregations is to improve the
communication efforts of Presbyterian Men and to open the regional and
national gatherings for Presbyterian Men to all men of the denomination."

Affiliate member congregations will receive all mailings from Miller's
office, including "Presbyterian Men in Action," the organization's
newsletter. They also will receive information, support and guidance from
synod and presbytery representatives of Presbyterian Men.
