Major Bible Information Website Expands

San Diego, CA/USA. [APD/AEI] Bibleinfo.com,
a website featuring an extensive database of bible
questions and answers, is set to expand and develop
in 1999, according to its director John R. Loor, Jr.

Participating at the Annual Convention of Adventist
Editors Internatinal (AEI) in San Diego on January 19-
24, Bibleinfo.com is to develop the multi-language
aspects of the site to include Chinese, Spanish,
Romanian, Russian, French, German and Swedish.
Currently the site with its easy to understand format
of questions with answers directly from the Bible is
receiving well over 10,000 visits a month.

"Since going online in February 1996 the site has
received over 200,000 visits, and in 1998 alone we
sent out 26,000 free copies of the book 'Your Bible
and You,'" reports Loor. "To date we have received
questions about the Bible from 140 countries around
the world, including students working on term papers,
university professors, and media reporters and
producers."

This primary Bible resource began in 1995 as the Bible
Information Line under the leadership of Max Torkelsen
by providing a phone service of Bible answers on over
300 subjects through the U.S. toll-free number 1-800-
97-BIBLE. The phone service still provides Bible
answers while the website continues to develop. The
site provides the interactive opportunity to ask
specific questions not covered in the question-and-
answer topics.

"We are delighted at the impact that bibleinfo.com has
made in making the Bible's message better known
through this new technology," says Loor. "People
appreciate the fact that we are not giving opinions,
but simply responding to questions with answers
straight from the Bible. It's a non-threatening,
helpful, and easy to use resource that we hope will
make a real difference in people's lives."

The website at www.bibleinfo.com is supported by the
Seventh-day Adventist Church's Upper Columbia
Conference in Spokane, Washington, with most of its
running costs being funded by donations. [99/04/05]
