Board of Pensions Seeks New Regional Representatives

    by Jerry L. Van Marter

PHILADELPHIA-The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Board of Pensions is seeking
two new regional representatives - one to serve the Synods of the Southwest
and Sun and the other to serve the Synods of the Covenant and Lincoln
Trails.

The new representatives will succeed the Rev. Shirley Wooden, who
retires as regional representative for the Sun and the Southwest on June 1,
and the Rev. Paul Moon, the regional representative for Lincoln Trails and
the Covenant, who that day becomes regional representative for the
non-geographic Korean Presbyteries of the denomination.

The board's regional representatives interpret and promote the benefits
plans of the Board of Pensions, provide educational programs about the
board's programs and trouble-shoot on behalf of plan members in their
regions. They also serve as a conduit for feedback from plan members back
to the board.

Wooden joined the board in 1991. Before that she pastored churches in
Illinois and served as associate executive presbyter for Hudson River
Presbytery. Moon served pastorates for more than 30 years before joining
the board in 1994.

More information about the regional representative positions is
available by calling the Rev. Paul Stavrakos, director of church relations
for the Board of Pensions, at 1-800-773-7752, extension 7218, or the
board's human resources director, Hugh McGinniss, at 1-800-773-7752,
extension 7265.
