    by Jerry L. Van Marter

LOUISVILLE, Ky.-Activities and worship for families, a work project at a
Presbytery camp and a mission trip for young people will all be part of
Presbyterian Mariners' 61st annual family conference, July 18-22 at Buena
Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa.

"Families of the Future" is the theme of the conference. Leadership
will be provided by the Rev. Bill and Melinda Christian. Bill is interim

hallmarks of Mariners' events, the conference will continue another
Mariners' tradition - a pre-conference work project. From July 11-17,
pre-conference participants will work on projects at the Presbyterian camp
in Saugatuck, Mich.

And during the conference, older youth participants will take a one-day
mission trip to the Presbyterian camp at Lake Okoboji in Milford, Iowa.

Deadline for registration for the 1999 Presbyterian Mariners Family
Conference is July 1. Registration information is available by contacting
