President of Italy Visits Adventist Rest Home

Rome, Italy - The President of the Italian
Republic, Oscar Luigi Scalfaro, made an official
visit to the Seventh-day Adventist rest home "Casa
Mia" on March 23.

The Rest Home "Casa Mia"(My Home), managed by
Giovanni Benini, was built from tax returns
assigned to the Seventh-day Adventist Church by
the Italian government. Currently the rest home
has a capacity of 74 beds, with a new wing under
construction.

A statement issued by the Seventh-Day Adventist
Church in Italy thanked "the President of the
Republic for the harmonious attitude demonstrated
towards religious minorities throughout the
period of his mandate." [99/09/04]
