    Richard Bass Jr. Killed in Car Crash

LOUISVILLE, Ky.-J. Richard Bass Jr., son of longtime Savannah Presbytery 
executive presbyter the Rev. J. Richard Bass, was killed instantly in an 
automobile accident April 14 while traveling to visit his ailing father. 
 
    Bass' wife, Kathy, and infant son, Austin, sustained only minor 
injuries when the car Bass was driving plowed into the rear of a 
tractor-trailer rig between their home in Decatur, Ga., and Quitman, Ga., 
where the elder Bass is hospitalized. 
 
    A memorial service has been planned for April 25 at Oakhurst 
Presbyterian Church in Decatur, where Bass was a member.
