               Presbyterians Pro-life Hear Willimon

FORT WORTH-William H. Willimon, dean of the chapel at Duke University, was
the keynote speaker for the Presbyterian Pro-Life dinner on Saturday
evening. Speaking of an encounter he had with one of his Duke students,
who had successfully avoided chapel attendance for two years, Willimon said
that the rationale for the student's absence was "go to church and you have
to change." "The nature of the Christian faith is that God grabs your life
and never lets you go," proclaimed Willimon citing II Corinthians 5 as the
basis for his understanding.
Proceeding to his theme of "Choice," he stressed that the true choice
in life is that "God chooses us, not the other way around."
Terry Schlossberg, Executive Director of the Presbyterians Pro~Life,
introduced Willimon, pointing out that he had been selected by Baylor
University as one of the twelve most effective preachers in the English
speaking world.
