        Financial Implications Presented to Commissioners

FORT WORTH-The third update on the financial implications of the 211th
General Assembly was presented Thursday , evening June 24, by Elder Phil
Barnes, moderator of the Assembly Committee on General Assembly Procedures.
Barnes reported that the figures given earlier in the day for the per
capita budget had been adjusted based on actual Assembly actions. A figure
representing the effect of pending Assembly actions was also given.
Those figures are $176,411 for the year 1999 ($103,529, committed,
$72,882 pending), representing an increase of $.07 in the per capita
apportionment, $114,361 for the year 2000 ($18,290 committed, $96,071
pending), $.04 increase in per capita, and $30,148 for the year 2001
($2,281 committed, $27,867 pending), $.01 increase in per capita.
The total financial impact of Assembly actions is therefore expected
to be approximately $320,000, representing a $.12 increase in the per
capita apportionment. Implications projected into the years 2002-2005 are
estimated at approximately $300,000, for an $.11 increase in per capita.
Following a review of all the actions taken up by the Assembly, a
recommended per capita budget will be presented for approval on Saturday,
June 26.
