Worship Banners Presented to Doug Oldenburg

FORT WORTH The Rev. John Miller, pastor at North Park Presbyterian Church
and chair of the Committee on Local Arrangements (COLA) worship committee,
presented the banners representing the "Great Ends of the Church" to former
moderator, the Rev. Douglas Oldenburg at the Columbia Theological Seminary
luncheon on Wednesday. Citing Oldenburg's commitment to Christ and the
denomination, Miller claimed it had been a pleasure to work with the former
moderator in planning the community worship services for the 211th General
Assembly.
Annadell Teems, member of First Presbyterian Church in Granbury, Texas
and creator of the banners, joined in the presentation.
Oldenburg joyfully accepted the banners on behalf of Columbia. "They
will mean a great deal to us," he said. "We'll have to find just the right
place to hang them."
"Or build it!" quipped an alumnus.
