    Sept. 26 Chosen as `Higher Education Sunday' 
 
    Congregations Urged to Get Involved 
    with Church-related College or Campus Ministry

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The rich tradition of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)'s 
involvement in higher education and the vital role that higher education 
plays in the life of the denomination will be marked on "Higher Education 
Sunday," Sept. 26. 
 
    The Higher Education Program Area in the National Ministries Division 
here is urging congregations to contact their local PC(USA)-related college 
or university or campus ministry so "your parishioners can hear first-hand 
from students, faculty, staff and/or alums." 
 
    The Higher Education Program Area also has a number of resources 
available, including: 
 
    * A special liturgy 
 
    * A directory of the 66 PC(USA)-related colleges and universities in 
the U.S. 
 
    * Information on scholarship and loan opportunities available to 
PC(USA) college students 
 
    * A system for referring college students to PC(USA)-related campus 
ministries on hundreds of college campuses around the country 
 
    * A Web site - <www.pcusa.org/highered> - with information about the 
higher-education ministries of the PC(USA).
