WCC names United Methodists to commissions, groups

A number of United Methodists were appointed to World Council of Churches
(WCC) commissions or advisory groups during the Central Committee meeting in
Geneva.

They include:

	*	The Rev. Bruce Robbins, United Methodist Commission on
Christian Unity and Interreligious Concerns staff, as moderator, Joint
Consultative Group with Pentecostals.
	*	The Rev. Rebecca Chopp, Emory University professor, to the
Commission on Faith and Order.
	*	Deborah Bass, United Methodist Board of Global Ministries
staff, to the Commission on World Mission and Evangelism.
	*	Lois Dauway, Board of Global Ministries staff, to the
Churches' Commission on International Affairs.
	*	Courtney Goto, United Methodist Board of Church and Society
director, as youth member on the Advisory Group on Interfaith Relations.
	*	Jan Love, former Central Committee member, to the Special
Commission on Orthodox and Protestant Dialogue.
	*	The Rev. Kathy Reeves, Board of Global Ministries staff, to
the Advisory Group on Education and Ecumenical Formation.

Bishop Mvume Dandala, from the autonomous Methodist Church of South Africa,
was named moderator of the Advisory Group on Regional Relations and
Ecumenical Sharing.
